NEW DELHI,India News: Congress on Monday gave a qualified thumbs up to a fresh round of Indo-Pak talks by insisting that terror would have to be the central.
“Our priority remains to ensure that South Asia must be a region without terror footprints,” Congress spokesman Manish Tiwari said at a media briefing.
Against the backdrop of the proposed Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan, Congress said the dialogue process should be allowed to unfold.
“Government in its wisdom has made a determination based upon inputs before it that there is a need to commence dialogue with Pakistan. It will be appropriate to allow the process to continue and unfold,” Tewari told reporters in a briefing.
