MOHALI: India Vs Sri Lanka 2nd T2 Live Score Today, In a format in which Sri Lanka have won eight matches and lost only one this year, Kumar Sangakkara sounded confident of victory in Mohali on Saturday in the second and final Twenty20 International.
The Lankan skipper said the win would also give his team the momentum they need going into the five one-dayers, especially after they lost the Test series 2-0.
“It’s more difficult to make a fresh start in Twenty20. We have to keep in mind that we want to carry this momentum into the ODIs, because how we do in them will be vital for the morale of the team. The team’s confidence grows when you start winning, and our self-belief has definitely risen after the first win,” Sangakkara said.
The left-hander, who plays for Kings XI in the IPL, will be at his ‘home’ ground in a match where his options have increased with opener Upul Tharanga also joining the squad on Thursday. “New guys have come and the presence of utility players in this format always brings some fresh ideas. Our experimentation worked well in the first match, and now we can try some other new things,” he added.
Sangakkara showered praise on veteran team mate Sanath Jayasuriya, saying his presence alone boosted the team. “He’s always been a great support in the team. It was his bowling which set up things for us in the last match. He’s always eager to contribute, be it bowling, batting or fielding. There are times when he comes up with different ideas, and they work most of the time.”
