The winner of tonight’s fight between Cain Velasquez and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira may very well be the next in line to challenge Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight title, and we’ll do our best to make winning UFC 110 predictions in this exciting main event brawl.
Before we make our UFC 110 predictions, the first thing we need to bring up is a rumor that has been floating around the internet the last few hours or so. Word “on the street” is that Cain Velasquez is taking this fight against Nogueira despite the fact that he has some sort of neck injury that is causing him pain. Regardless, it appears that Velasquez feels that he is capable of fighting through the supposed injury in an effort to move himself into the upper echelon of UFC heavyweights.
BoDog Sportsbook has the UFC 110 odds ready to go and it’s Nogueira who is currently a tiny favorite over Cain Velasquez. This line has fluctuated quite a bit with line movements both ways, but it appears that “Big Nog” will enter the UFC 110 main event as the favorite on the betting odds unless something drastic happens in the next few hours.
Velasquez is another talented Arizona State wrestler who has made the crossover into mixed martial arts. He simply smothers people on the ground and his endless cardio has made him one of the premier contenders in the UFC heavyweight division. Velasquez has some issues to work out in his standup, but his endless punches keep his opponents backing up.
Nogueira is the former Pride and UFC heavyweight champion, and it’s never wise to count out experienced and accomplished veterans in your predictions. The Brazilian is a ground master and has 20 submission victories to his credit. Nogueira also has solid striking that combines some power with his ability to take strikes.
The UFC 110 betting predictions in the main event have to be to play the odds on Nogueira. The injury concerns us, as does Velasquez’s step up in competition. “Big Nog” is healthy, has the experience, and knows how to counter Velasquez’s best weapon (wrestling).

JAIPUR: India Vs South Africa 1st ODI today, After an exciting end to the Test series, India and South Africa will lock horns in the three-match ODI series starting on Sunday at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
India have been inconsistent in the shorter format of the game. India are placed second in the ODI table but are way behind champions Australia and have the third placed Proteas breathing down their necks.
South Africa can take the second spot if they win the series by a margin of 2-1 or better.
At the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here, both the teams will have their own share of problems.
Harbhajan Singh will skip the first two games for his sister’s wedding while pace spearhead Zaheer Khan has been ruled out of the series due to injury. Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir are also absent with wrist and groin injuries.
But the return of Sachin Tendulkar, who opted out of the tri-series in Bangladesh, has brought back some smiles in the Indian team. Tendulkar is in great touch and has scored four consecutive Test tons.
South Africa will miss their captain Graeme Smith due to a finger fracture and veteran Jacques Kallis will lead the side. But wicketkeeper Mark Boucher is set for a return after sitting out of the Kolkata Test with a back spasm.
Kallis, however, will be banking on the presence of ODI specialists like Herschelle Gibbs, Albie Morkel, Roelof van der Merwe and Charl Langeveldt. The last minute inclusion of Hashim Amla, who was in great touch in the Test series, as a replacement for Smith will bolster the team’s middle order.
South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, hero of their innings win in Nagpur, will be India’s biggest concern but it will be due factor that will also play on skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s mind.
KOLKATA : India Vs South Africa Cricket, ICC Test Rankings, India defied an unbeaten century from Hashim Amla to crush South Africa by an innings and 58 runs in the final Test on Thursday to draw the series 1-1.

The 26-year-old from Durban battled for 394 deliveries and struck 16 boundaries in his ninth Test century, but failed to prevent his team from snatching a thrilling draw.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Indians, who lost the first Test in Nagpur by an innings and six runs, retained their number one Test ranking with 124 rating points.
Second-ranked South Africa, who would have taken over from India if the match had ended in a draw, were left on 120 points.
Last man Morne Morkel (12) kept Amla company for 21.4 overs before being leg-before to Harbhajan in the penultimate over of the match in front of 40,000 relieved fans at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Wayne Parnell, who put on 70 for the eighth wicket with Amla, was dismissed in the fourth over after tea for 22. He was caught at mid-on off seamer Ishant Sharma.
Sharma also had Paul Harris caught in the slips for four, before Morkel and Amla almost pulled off a thrilling draw.
As the South Africans fought hard, India sorely missed pace spearhead Zaheer Khan, who was confined to the dressing room the entire day with a knee injury.
The overnight pair of Amla and Ashwell Price put on 47 for the fourth wicket, before Harbhajan broke through two hours after the start under bright sunshine.
The off-spinner beat Prince in the air and the miscued drive lobbed to Sharma at mid-off.

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra, who left the field briefly for treatment on a sore right shoulder, returned to trap AB de Villiers leg-before for three with a googly just before lunch.
South Africa, who went to lunch at 164-5, slipped to 180-7 as Harbhajan claimed both Jean-Paul Duminy and Dale Steyn leg-before soon after play resumed.

KOLKATA : India Vs South Africa Test, South Africa were struggling to save the second and final cricket Test against India after losing three key wickets in a rain-curtailed fourth day’s play on Wednesday.
Leg-spinner Amit Mishra sent back skipper Graeme Smith (20) and Jacques Kallis (20), and Harbhajan Singh dismissed Alviro Petersen as South Africa stuttered to 111-3 by tea at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Hashim Amla was unbeaten on 45 and Ashwell Prince was yet to open his account at the break, which was taken early due to rain.

India declared their first innings on a mammoth 643-6, built on centuries by Virender Sehwag (165), Venkatsai Laxman (143 not out), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (132 not out) and Sachin Tendulkar (106).
The tourists need a draw to win their first Test series in India for a decade and reclaim the top spot in the official rankings from Dhoni’s men, after winning the opening match in Nagpur by an innings and six runs.
Off-spinner Harbhajan gave India the breakthrough in the post-lunch session when he got rid of first-innings centurion Petersen (21) in his second over after the break.
The debutant opener was foxed by a delivery that found the inside edge of his bat and popped up to short leg where Subramaniam Badrinath latched on to the head-high catch on second attempt.
Kallis shaped up to defend against Mishra but offered an outside edge to Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind the stumps. He shared 57 runs for the third wicket with Amla.
Earlier, only 14 overs were bowled in the morning session after a wet outfield delayed start of play by 90 minutes.
Smith and Petersen played with caution after resuming at the overnight total of 6-0, until Mishra was brought into attack in the 13th over.
Mishra struck off his first delivery, trapping Smith in front of the wicket to cap a miserable outing for the South African skipper in the Test series. Smith scored just 30 runs in the series.
The Test series will be followed by three one-day internationals at Jaipur (Feb 21), Gwalior (Feb 24) and Ahmedabad (Feb 27).
