EU official in Jordan for talks over peace process

EU official in Jordan for talks over peace processThe European Union’s foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton arrived in Amman on Wednesday to talk to Jordanian officials on how to speed the start of peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel.

Ashton held a meeting with Jordan’s foreign minister Nasser Judeh and top officials on ways to boost relations between Jordan and the EU, according to Jordanian officials.

During a news conference at the foreign ministry, Ashton said her regional trip is meant to support US efforts to kick off talks between the Palestinians and Israel.

“I am here today because I will be visiting later on today Israel and Palestine and I will be going into Gaza tomorrow and I come from a number of other countries where I have had important dialogues. I am also on my way to the quartet meeting in Moscow on Friday where this will be an opportunity to do more to try and support exactly, as you say minister, the move to proximity talks with a view to these leading to formal negotiations and a resolution to the issues that are so difficult at current time.”

Makeup Tips For Acne

Makeup Tips For AcneThere are many reasons why one can have acne problem, including the cosmetics themselves being the cause. Besides the cosmetic products there are hormones and bacteria and even stress which can express itself as acne on the face. Here are a few tips by which you can cover up your acne problem.

Acne through cosmetics can be caused when an excessive use of the makeup builds up on the face blocking the pores and concentrating the oil at one place. The kind of acne appears across the face giving the skin a rough kind of an appearance. To find out whether actually the acne on your face is the result of the cosmetics or not, you should try to follow these steps.

First of all look at the location, if you have breakouts which appear only at the hairline, then your hair products are the ones causing the menace. If the breakout is around the eye area or near somewhere the cheeks, then know that it is your eye crèmes. If that acne is somewhere over the neck, then for sure your foundation is the culprit.

You should also check the ingredients whether they contain material which can clog the pores. I yes, then throw them away and never use them again. Look for the products which especially mention that there is no pore-clogging material contained in this particular product, then you can easily use it.

But you can always conceal your acne till the time to find out the cause with the help of the makeup done in the right way. First of all avoid keeping your cosmetics in the containers which can not be placed in cooler temperatures. Always wash your hand before you start applying your makeup. And also wash your face before you start to apply makeup on it. Use an acne treatment cleanser to remove oil and dead skin cells. Use the base for your foundation which is oil free and apply it lightly. Make it match your skin tone. And before you go to bed, you must take your makeup out thoroughly.

Rick Owens

Rick Owens, Born and raised in Porterville, California, Owens studied fine 29b2268844owens Rick Owensarts at Otis/Parsons (now known as Otis College of Art and Design) in Los Angeles for two years before a pattern-making class led him to drop out and work for some local companies that produced sportswear and inexpensive imitations of designer clothing. His own label, begun in 1994  found a following, selling exclusively to Charles Gallay, a pioneering Los Angeles retailer who kept Owens in business for several years. In 2001, he signed with Italian sales agent Eo Bocci Associati for world wide distribution, and his production moved to Italy.

He began to receive attention when an image of Kate Moss shot by Corrianne Day and styled by Panos Yiapanis appeared in Vogue Paris, featuring one of Owens’ fitted distressed leather Jackets. He showed his first runway collection in September 2002 during New York Fashion Week with the support of American Vogue and Anna Wintour, who also featured him and his muse Kembra Pfahler in a spread shot by Annie Leibovitz. The following season Owens launched his menswear collection, showing it alongside his womenswear in his Spring Summer 2003 runway show. After his second runway show in New York Owens made the decision to move the studio from Los Angeles to Paris and show during the Paris collections. He also began his longstanding collaboration with the stylist, Panos Yiapanis, who has been working with Owens on all his catwalk shows to date. He marked the anniversary of his 10th season with a launch of a retrospective book named ‘L’ai – Je Bien Descendue’.

In 2007 he was awarded a Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. In 2002, he won the Council of Fashion Designers of America Perry Ellis Emerging Talent Award. His look has been described as “glamour-meets-grunge”, but Owens himself says “I try to make clothes the way Lou Reed does music, with minimal chord changes, and direct. It is sweet but kind of creepy. It’s about giving everything I make a worn, softened feeling. It’s about an elegance being tinged with a bit of the barbaric, the sloppiness of something dragging and the luxury of not caring. At Revillon, I felt it isn’t about displaying one’s junk, but rather giving the woman a selfish pleasure. It is about using sable as the lining under a very humble jacket, the luxury is all hers.” Courtney Love, Madonna and Helena Bonham Carter are among the celebrities who have been seen wearing his clothes, and Patricia Field used some of his pieces to create a fashion-forward look for Emily Blunt’s character in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada. The opening of his first shop in the Palais Royal, in Paris, also debuted his furniture range as well as his various clothing lines from the younger and more affordable Lillies and the denim range named DRKSHDW to the very exclusive Fur collection Palais Royal. His second store in New York’s Tribeca opened in the Summer of 2008 with plans of further expansion.

Earthquake in Delhi

Latest news update Earthquake Delhi Megacities: Earthquake Delhi are somethin810e3b2c17delhi Earthquake in Delhig new on the planet. Earthquakes are something very old. The two are a lethal combination, as seen in the recent tragedy in Port-au-Prince, where more than 200,000 people perished — a catastrophe that scientists say is certain to be repeated somewhere, and probably soon, with death tolls that once again stagger the mind.

In 1800, there was just one city with more than a million people — Beijing. Now there are 381 urban areas with at least 1 million inhabitants. Urbanization crossed a threshold last year when, for the first time, more people lived in city settings than rural ones. About 403 million people live in cities that face significant seismic hazard, according to a recent study by seismologist Roger Bilham of the University of Colorado.

The next Big One could strike Tokyo, Istanbul, Tehran, Mexico City, New Delhi, Kathmandu or the two metropolises near California’s San Andreas Fault, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Or it could devastate Dhaka, Jakarta, Karachi, Manila, Cairo, Osaka, Lima or Bogota. The list goes on and on.

“You can name about 25 cities that are like Port-au-Prince. They’re not going to shake but every 250 years [on average]. But if you can name 25 of them, you’re going to have an event like this every 10 years,” said David Wald, a seismologist with the U.S. Geological Survey.

In many vulnerable cities, people are effectively stacked on top of one another in buildings designed as if earthquakes don’t happen. It is not the tremor that kills people in an earthquake but the buildings, routinely constructed on the cheap, using faulty designs and, in some cities, overseen by corrupt inspectors. The difference between life and death is often a matter of how much sand went into the cement or how much steel into a supporting column. Earthquakes might be viewed as acts of God, but their lethality is often a function of masonry.

“In recent earthquakes, buildings have acted as weapons of mass destruction,” Bilham writes in the journal Nature.

Lauren Ashley

Lauren Ashley, “The Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus it says, ‘If man lies with mankind as he would lie with a 1e7af9f3abashley Lauren Ashleywoman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death and their blood shall be upon them.’ The Bible is pretty black and white.

“I feel like God himself created mankind and he loves everyone, and he has the best for everyone. If he says that having sex with someone of your same gender is going to bring death upon you, that’s a pretty stern warning, and he knows more than we do about life.”

Ashley, 23, will be representing Beverly Hills in the Miss California pageant in November. Her statements mirror former Miss California Carrie Prejean’s answer to a question about same-sex marriage in last year’s Miss USA pageant. At the time, Prejean said her answer opposing same sex marriage cost her the title.

But with the Miss California Pageant still months away, and Ashley already echoing the views that got Prejean in trouble last year, is she concerned that she may ruin her chances of taking home the tiara?

“That isn’t really the issue. I have a lot of friends that are gay, and … I have a lot of friends who have different views, and we share our views together,” she said. “There’s no hate between me and anyone.”

And according to the Miss California’s state director, Keith Lewis, a contestant’s personal opinion should have no bearing on the result.

“The Miss California USA system has always had a place for an individual’s thoughts and opinions when it comes to all sides of political issues,” Lewis told Pop Tarts. “It is an organization which empowers women, and everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.”

And while Ashley has yet to meet Carrie Prejean, she is certainly a big fan.

“She is definitely a beautiful person and I love that she stood up for what she believes in. I think that’s gorgeous,” Ashley said. “Perez Hilton definitely overreacted a little bit. He took it personally, and I’m sure that she loves him just as much as she loves everyone else.”

Ashley owns her own personal training company in Beverly Hills. And even though she parties with Paris Hilton, she tries to steer clear of doing anything too naughty. She said she plans to remain a virgin until her wedding night.

“I don’t drink alcohol and I don’t smoke weed or cigarettes. My definition of partying is a little different,” she said. “I feel like my body is the Temple of God and it’s my temple so it’s really good to treat it well. I also feel like sex was made for marriage. You really show your future husband or wife respect and you build a lot of trust before you get married. You don’t have sex with other people, so that should definitely build trust, because you waited.”

Pop Tarts has also exclusively learned that Lewis, who was pitted against Prejean in last year’s gay marriage brouhaha, is writing a tell-all book under the working title “The Man Behind the Tiara.”

“It is a gay man’s journey through overcoming his own homophobia,” Lewis said. “I was from a Southern Baptist upbringing, I was from Carrie’s camp. This whole thing made me realize that I had a deep-seated guilt about who I was. Strangely enough, Carrie Prejean made me comfortable with being gay.”
