The latest episode of the reality series gave revealing insights into the experiences of Churchill Downs COO as he embarks on a journey to get a taste of the reality of the workers who are part of his organization.
Bill Carstanjen’s odyssey commences at the Calder Race Course in Miami where he works with a trainer, Gillian and learns how to take proper care of the animals. However, the Churchill Downs COO initially seems to have a difficult time dealing with the moody animals which got accentuated given his fear of horses. Moreover, while working as just another regular employee of the corporation, Bill Carstanjen also gets to witness the sheer hard work and dedication with which the employees work every single day despite certain financial crunches that they have to face.
Next, the Churchill Downs COO was seen going Arlington Park Racetrack situated in Illinois, where he takes an attempt at bugling but success seems to elude him here. For the rest of the time, Bill Carstanjen gives a helping hand to Denise to clean the luxury suites at the racetrack. Eighteen Hour Long NIPW Workers Protest Continues


Eighteen Hour Long NIPW Workers Protest ContinuesThe apprehended employees of National Programme for Improvement of Watercourses (NPIW) were released after negotiations with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, however the workers continued staging protest and sit-in in front of Karachi Press Club after collapse of 17 hours at a stretch, protesting against Sindh government over delay in regularizing the services of employees. The advisor to CM Sindh Rashid Rabbani and Waqar Mehdi were also present during the negotiations.
The leader of PML-Q Marvi Memon addressed the protestors, calling upon government to make the services of workers NIPW permanent, she also demanded the suspension orders of the Policemen who baton charged on the protesters. Earlier, the workers of (NPIW) were baton charged and tear-gassed while they were moving towards the Chief Minister (CM) Sindh house.
The protest commenced at 11 am on Friday, which is still underway since then. The employees have been recalled for negotiations at 1:00 PM today.

Parliament Must be Honored: PM Gilani


ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Monday said that parliament is elected by 17 crore people of Pakistan therefore dishonoring it was not fair.

“All the people sitting here are elected; they have not entered from the backdoors. It was the power of masses and the parliament through with the sacked judiciary was restored,” Gilani said while addressing National Assembly session.

He said his government would have no objection if parliament empowers Chief Justice of Pakistan to appointment judges.

“We will not object if the National Assembly itself transfers powers of appointment of judges to the Chief Justice of Pakistan.”

India Asks Pakistan for Crackdown on Terrorism

“The first step they [Pakistan] should take is to show a greater degree of seriousness in prosecuting and punishing all those who were responsible for the November 26 attacks in Mumbai,” he said.

“It would help rehabilitate these youth who were misled. It would unite children with their parents and families,” Chidambaram said.

He said relations with Pakistan, which have been frozen following the Mumbai attacks in 2008, will improve only if Islamabad cracks down on terrorism.

SC Suspends Judges’ Appointment Notification


ISLAMABAD, Pakistan News: A 3-judge bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has suspended the notification of judges’ appointment hours after its issuance by the government on Saturday.

The special bench held a meeting soon after its formation by the Chief Justice of Pakistan and suspended the President’s decision of judges’ appointment, declaring it a violation of Article-177 of the Constitution. Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif and Justice Mian Saqib Nisar will continue to serve as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) and senior judge LHC respectively, the bench said.

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry taking suo motto notice of the notification of judges’ appointment Saturday evening formed a 3-judge bench headed by Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan with Justice Raja Fayaz and Justice Jawad S. Khwaja as its members.

Meanwhile, Additional Registrar Supreme Court Qasi Sajid provided the details/ records in connection with judges appointment to the special bench.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari elevated Justice Khwaja Sharif as SC judge and Justice
Saqib Nisar as Acting CJ of LHC through an official notification.

However, Justice Khwaja Sharif and Justice Saqib Nisar refused to accept the decision of the government.

Later, the special bench adjourned its proceeding till February 18.

The 5-member SC bench which had been constituted for taking up the case of delay in judges’ appointment will take the proceeding ahead.

Additional Secretary Law, Attorney Generals of Pakistan and the four advocate generals have been summoned.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan was present as the chief guest on republic day 2009. In 2010 It will be the 61st Republic Day of India.

The Republic Day of India is a national holiday of India to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India and the transition of India from a British Dominion to a republic on January 26, 1950. It is one of the three national holidays in India.

Still India is a developing country when many countries have become developed countries or much more developed than India.

Activities of 26th January:

To mark the importance of this occasion, every year a grand parade is held in the capital, New Delhi, from the Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President’s Palace), along the Rajpath, past India Gate and on to the historic Red Fort.

The different regiments of the Army, the Navy and the Air Force march past in all their finery and official decorations. The President of India who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, takes the salute. Floats exhibiting the cultures of the various states and regions of India are in the grand parade, which is broadcast nationwide on television and radio. Also part of the parade are children who win the National Bravery Award for the year. The parade also includes other vibrant displays and floats and traditionally ends with a flypast by Indian Air Force jets.
