Jason Davis

Jason Davis, It had been too long since we’d heard from Jason Davis. A little over a year and a half since Gummi Bear last got arrested for DUI, if our memory serves.
42751f67badavis Jason Davis
Well, the rotund ursine specimen is back in the news because of an appearance on Bravo’s The Millionaire Matchmaker, a dating show for all rich snobs.

Jason, the brother of the slightly more famous Brandon Davis (Greasy Bear) is the grandson of Marvin Davis, a billionaire who owned 20th .

Jason Davis has not been quite so successful. He recently got an eviction notice on his $3,600-a-month Los Angeles apartment for nonpayment of rent.

Now there’s a catch. Maybe if it were Billionaire Matchmaker …

The Gummi one has also been at the center of controversy for his issues with heroin and for getting negged at the front door of clubs. It’s how he rolls.

Suffice it to say, Millionaire Matchmaker has jumped the shark.

“They must be desperate,” a source told the New York Post of Davis’ recent casting. For his part, he could not care less. It’s hard out there for a bear.

“Tell fans and haters they are all welcome to join me at Capitol City Hollywood to view the episode,” he said of his appearance on Patti Stanger’s show.

She’s got her work cut out for her. Who you date this man?

Thanksgiving worksheets for kids

Thanksgiving worksheets for kids, Thanksgiving is a wonderful opportunity for gathering as a family and sharing a traditional meal. But, it’s also a great time for families to spend quality time outdoors. Playoutdoors.com offers five great outdoor activities that every member of the family can be thankful for to feel a part of the festive fun.

1. Take a family walk after the meal (if it’s snowing, get the whole family together to snowshoe in the yard)

2. Create a backyard treasure hunt for the kids where they have to find Thanksgiving-themed items like: mini pumpkins, leaves, turkey, pumpkin pie, pilgrims, etc. These items can be made from construction paper or can be purchased at party stores.

3. Start an annual family turkey trot. Players pair up by linking their elbows. Each team has their own turkey mascot (a football with construction taped turkey face on it, a stuffed animal turkey, a brown bag stuffed with newspaper and decorated like a turkey). The first team to make it to the finish line without dropping the turkey and unlinking their arms wins.

4. Set up a craft table in the back yard where kids can create their own turkey hats, hand turkeys, glue leaves and sticks on paper, turkey napkin holders etc.

5. Before recycling the food containers from your Thanksgiving meals, create an outdoor game bowling where guests roll a pumpkin into plastic soda bottles, tin cans or boxes that can be reused as bowling pins. Source

Shaniya Davis Funeral Video

Shaniya Davis Funeral VideoShaniya Davis Funeral Video, At one point, over a hundred looked through the windows of the church door because they could not enter
Shaniya’s father, was not scheduled to speak, but stood up and encouraged the community not be angry at the situation.

He turned to his daughter’s pink coffin and said: “I know we’ll be waiting for me [in heaven], I’ll see you when I get there.”

Brother, Shaniya, Byron Coleman, rose to speak, but was obviously too excited to say anything.
Brad Lockhart told one of the pastors that he wanted his funeral to be a “homegoing” celebration.

Davis disappeared from her home last Tuesday and his body was found in a wooded area south of Sanford.

Police said Davis was raped and strangled. Mario McNeill, 29, is accused of the crime. Allegedly admitted abducting the girl.

Police announced Thursday that Cumberland County has jurisdiction in the case. The investigation has been tough for veteran detectives.

“And it’s still very emotional – even up and down,” Captain Mark Bidgeman with the Fayetteville Police Department said. “You know, it’s one of those things. It’s the hardest thing I had to do in my career.”

According to court documents, McNeill shot a 5-year-old, the same day he was reported missing from his mother’s mobile home in Fayetteville.

Shaniya mother, Antoinette Davis, 25, is accused of human trafficking and child abuse associated with prostitution.

McNeill previously was charged with kidnapping. The new indictment against him is first-degree rape and murder of a first grader.

Shaniya Davis Oprah

Shaniya Davis Oprah, It was 4 p.m. Friday and the first topic on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” was Shaniya Davis, the 5-year-old Fayetteville girl who police say was sexually assaulted and asphyxiated before her body was dumped in woods off a rural road south of Sanford. Shaniya’s body was found Monday.

“This is about to make me cry,” said beauty salon patron Gwen King as photos of Shaniya appeared on the TV.

King’s reactions mirrored the feelings of the others at the shop on Murchison Road, about three miles from where Shaniya lived with her mother, Antoinette Davis.

The only sound filling the shop was the familiar voice of Winfrey, who described the story as one that has us asking, “What is the world coming to?”

Mario Andrette McNeill, has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child.

Shaniya’s mother is charged with felony child abuse and human trafficking related to prostitution.

On Friday’s show – the same day Winfrey announced she will be leaving in 2011 – the first guests were Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart, and her aunt, Carey Lockhart-Davis. They appeared together via satellite from Fayetteville.

Winfrey asked Lockhart if he had anything to say to Shaniya’s mother, who is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center.

“Right now, I just think it’s best that we let the justice system take its course,” Lockhart said. “I try to keep my heart as pure as possible, and I’m sure one day I will be able to sit down and talk to her, try and understand what was going through her mind.”

Lockhart said he had a one-night stand with Shaniya’s mother and mostly raised their daughter before letting Davis care for here. He said he last saw Shaniya on Oct. 2.

“There was so much to be said about this precious angel, as you can see from the outreach and the vigils,” Lockhart said.

Four vigils have been held since Shaniya’s body was discovered.

Suspected abuse

When questioned about the reported burns on Shaniya’s body, Lockhart-Davis said she was told that Shaniya accidently walked into a cigarette. She said she also was told that Shaniya came too close to a kerosene heater, which fell on her.

Shaniya’s story began receiving national attention shortly after police announced she was missing Nov. 10.

Some women at the salon said they welcome the national publicity, which includes experts discussing the crime on the Larry King and Nancy Grace television shows.

“I think it’s good for them to go on the shows,” said client Amarentha Caldwell. “People think things like this only happen in New York, New Jersey, big cities. But when it knocks on our door, here in Fayetteville, North Carolina, that’s a wake-up call to let people know we need to be careful with our kids.”

Crystal Knowles, a stylist, agreed.

“I think it’s good to have them on TV so everybody can be aware of the situation,” she said. Thanks to

Switzerland loses doubles Without Roger Federer

Roger FedererGENOA, Italy: With Roger Federer sitting out, Switzerland lost a doubles match to Italy in a Davis Cup playoff and had its lead cut to 2-1.

Simone Bolelli and Potito Starace beat Marco Chiudinelli and Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (3) Saturday.

In Thursday’s draw, Federer was selected to team with Wawrinka, reviving the team that won the Olympic doubles title last year. But Switzerland captain Severin Luthi decided to rest Federer in favor of the 117th-ranked Chiudinelli.

“We all know he’s had a very heavy schedule over the last days and weeks, so we preferred that he rest today and be ready for tomorrow,” Luthi said.

Federer lost in five sets to Juan Martin del Potro in the U.S. Open final Monday, and he is still getting over jet leg from his trip across the Atlantic.

“For sure to have Roger on the team is always an advantage, but we knew we had a chance with this team, the Italians just played better today,” Luthi said. “(Federer) has no problem. You can expect him to play for sure tomorrow.”

Federer can seal the tie with a win over Andreas Seppi in the first of Sunday’s reverse singles matches on the red clay courts at the Valletta Cambiaso club.

The winner of the best-of-five series will return to the World Group next year.

Wawrinka beat Andreas Seppi 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 and Federer defeated Bolelli 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 in Friday’s opening singles matches.

“We were talking about the solutions for (Federer) and the worst-case scenario would have been if we lose in five sets and then he would have to play three days in a row,” Luthi said. “It was better that he rested today and be ready for tomorrow.

“It’s not for sure that if Roger had played we would have won the doubles,” the Swiss captain added. “We had a strong team on the court today. It’s not like we were saying we’re giving this point to Italy. They were just stronger today.”

Italy also made a change in its doubles team, with Bolelli replacing Fabio Fognini alongside Starace.

Wawrinka was broken four times and also lost two points on his serve in the tiebreaker.

“For sure it was not my best doubles today,” Wawrinka said, adding that he and Chiudinelli struggled to play in unison, having never played together in the Davis Cup.

The Italians were pleased by the decision to rest Federer.

“We were a bit surprised he wasn’t playing. But it gave us a better chance of winning,” Bolelli said. “We played well and showed that without Federer we’re capable of winning in straight sets.”

Oxfam fires ‘Sex and the City’s’ Kristin Davis for ties with Ahava

Kristin DavisAmerican actress Kristin Davis has lost her ambassadorship for the humanitarian group Oxfam International, after she unknowingly waded into Middle East politics by joining Ahava.

Davis, 44, was suspended from any “publicity work” with Oxfam after she signed on in 2007 as a spokeswoman for Ahava cosmetics, which is produced beyond the Green Line.

According to Oxfam, Ahava creams, lotions and other goodies are manufactured in “disputed” territory, and the cosmetics company has a factory on Kibbutz Mitzpe Shalem, located beyond the Green Line on the Dead Sea coast.

“When Kristin signed the contract with Ahava she wasn’t aware of the controversy around settlement trade and Oxfam didn’t know she had signed with Ahava,” the Jerusalem Post quoted a manager for Oxfam’s ambassador program as saying in a letter, reported on August 6 in the New York Post.

“Oxfam remains opposed to settlement trade, in which Ahava is engaged,” the manager had stated.

But a spokesman for Oxfam has said that ties with Davis had not been permanently severed. He said Oxfam had no short-term projects in the pipeline for her.

“We just don’t want this to be a distraction,” he said.

Organizers of a grassroots women’s peace group, CODEPINK, speculated that the Israeli cosmetics company recruited Davis precisely because of her ties to Oxfam.

“Ahava, in hiring Kristin Davis, was hiring her for her fresh-faced look, her connection to ‘Sex and the City’, and the fact that she’s a do-gooder,” Nancy Kricorian, the coordinator of CODEPINK’s new “Stolen Beauty” campaign against Ahava, said.

“It’s a way of burnishing their image,” she stated.

She said CODEPINK attended a New York City publicity event with Davis in June, where they handed her a letter outlining their concerns about Ahava.

“Kristin is passionate about her relationship with Oxfam, and she intends to work with them and other humanitarian causes for years to come,” a spokeswoman for the actress told the New York Post
