India Not Serious in Composite Dialogue With Pak: FO

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit said on Friday that India did not seem intent on composite dialogue with Pakistan, adding that it did not want to resolve core issues including water and Kashmir.India does not want peace in region, FO
Abdul Basit maintained that Pakistan was a responsible state and answers Indian accusations through proper channel. He said India just look at terrorist incidents in its own territory and neglect terrorism in Pakistan. If Pakistan and India do not hold talks, it would be tantamount to the accomplishment of the terrorists’ agenda. Abdul Basit said US-India relations did not affect Pakistan unless they’re not against Pakistan’s interests.
The foreign office spokesman said India did not seem intent on initiating the composite talks with Pakistan. Pakistan wishes the commencement of the composite talks with India, not just a photo session, adding his country wants fruitful negotiations with its neighbor. The FO spokesman said if the negotiations were not jump-started, it would be a step forward towards the completion of terrorists’ agenda, adding it seemed India did not want peace in the region and was not serious in resolution of issues relating Kashmir and water. Abdul Basit said India wanted to dither the resolution of problems by abandoning the negotiations.

Taliban Call for Afghans to Boycott Runoff Poll

Taliban Call for Afghans to Boycott Runoff PollKABUL: Taliban Call for Afghans to Boycott Runoff Poll, Taliban on Saturday called for a boycott of the forthcoming implementation of fraud-off in Afghanistan the U.S. presidential elections contaminated as a principle and UN envoys expected fewer problems with the second round.

While Western military commanders insist they can ensure on 7 November survey was conducted in a calm, warning the Taliban threaten to deflate more participation, which was less than 40 percent of the first time.

“The Islamic Emirate (of Afghanistan), once again informed everyone that no one should participate in this process and America should boycott the process,” said a statement emailed to the sources of the Taliban.

“The mujahedeen are fully prepared to defeat this process,” he said, adding: “Anyone who participates and gets hurt will be responsible for their own losses.”

The runoff pits former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah, against the incumbent, Hamid Karzai, who took power in late 2001 after the Taliban were toppled by US-led forces.

Eight years later, the Islamists are waging an increasingly virulent insurgency, especially in its strongholds in the south, where attacks and threats helped to limit participation in some provinces such as Kandahar to ten percent or less.

Nearly 200 incidents of violence over the first vote was attributed to the Taliban, including amputations of fingers marked with purple ink, as proof of voting, and attacks with rockets and grenades at polling stations.

Pakistan’s nuclear assets in safe hands: FO Spokesman

Pakistan The Foreign OfficeLahore, Pakistan:- The Foreign Office Spokesman, on Indian concerns over the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear assets, has said that such remarks are evidently self-serving and integral to India’s efforts to seek unilateral advantage at the cost of regional strategic stability by its feverish militarization and working on dangerous military doctrines.

“Pakistan has refrained from commenting on India’s own record on nuclear safety and security and its overt and covert endeavours to build its WMD programmes,” the spokesman said in a statement.

Instead of finger-pointing, India should accept our proposal for promoting regional strategic restraint regime and work with Pakistan to promote strategic stability in South Asia, the statement added.

The Spokesman said suggestions in this regard were made to the Indian Foreign Secretary at the recent meeting of the two foreign secretaries in New York. “It is also time that India stop its opportunistic propaganda against Pakistan,” the Spokesman said.

UK Hostages In Iraq ‘Likely To Be Dead’

Security guards Alan McMenemy, from Glasgow, and Alec Maclachlan, from south Wales, were kidnapped in 2007 along with three other Britons.
UK hostages in Iraq 'likely to be dead'
The bodies of two of the other men were found last month with gunshot wounds.

The condition of the fifth man, Peter Moore, is not known, but the Foreign Office says all efforts are being made to secure his release.

Mr Moore had been working for American management consultancy Bearingpoint in Iraq, while the other men were security contractors employed to guard him.

The group were captured at Baghdad’s Ministry of Finance in May 2007 by about 40 men disguised as Iraqi policemen.

They are understood to belong to an obscure militia known as Islamic Shiite Resistance in Iraq.

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner said the Foreign Office last week told the families of Mr McMenemy and Mr Maclachlan that the men had most likely died while in captivity.

British officials are now focusing on IT consultant Mr Moore. The last proof of life sent by his kidnappers was a video handed over in March, but it is not known when the film was made or if he is still alive today.

The bodies of Jason Creswell and Jason Swindlehurst were found in June

The bodies of Mr Swindlehurst, from Skelmersdale, Lancashire, and Mr Creswell, from Glasgow, were flown back to the UK last month.

News of their deaths came shortly after speculation that a deal to free all five men alive could be close.

Security experts understood there had been positive diplomatic moves behind the scenes, including the release of a prisoner whose freedom was being demanded by the hostage-takers

Little is known about the captives because of a media blackout during a large period of their captivity.

The blackout originally came came on the instruction of the hostage-takers who said they did not want publicity.

This has been Britain’s longest running hostage crisis for nearly 20 years.
