Juanda Dale could shimmy her way up to the top of a rainbow, look down and still pick one out.

So on this St. Patrick’s Day, if you think you’re up to challenging her to a hunt for four-leaf clovers, do yourself a favor — lay off the green beer.

To run with the woman who could very well spot a few crumbles of corned beef in a leprechaun’s beard from 100 yards out, you’re going to need your eyes to be extra sharp.

“I just have an eye for picking them out,” the Pitchin resident confessed. “My grandmother and I used to have clover wars from the house to the car, just to see how many four-leaf clovers we could find in five minutes.”

She’d always find five or six.

“I don’t know how much luck is involved,” Dale said.

Then again, some people are lucky to find just one.

Rather, some people are lucky to have that much patience — four-leaf clovers aren’t all that rare, said local horticulturist Pam Bennett.

But by her own estimation, Dale has found thousands of them in her lifetime, theoretically making her the luckiest nonfictitious person in the world — and second overall only to the little dude pictured on the Lucky Charms box.

“I probably have a couple hundred of them at home,” she said.

In the mid-1990s, she got herself a cheap laminating machine and really went to town, forever sealing the lucky charms in plastic.

She gives many away.

As the receptionist at the Springfield Museum of Art, she sells others for $2, with the money going to the financially strapped Cliff Park Road institution that could use a little luck of its own about now.

Several years ago, she sent 50 of them to a friend in Las Vegas, who promptly sold 47 of them to gamblers on the Strip for as much as $10 each.

“People are always looking for something to change their luck in Vegas,” she said.

Her brother, museum facilities manager Marty Brewer, is nothing short of amazed by his sister’s keen eyesight.

“She can find lost things,” he marveled. “She found my wife’s wedding band she’d lost while helping me gut a deer.”

“My husband,” Dale added, “was sitting there with $1,500 in metal-detecting equipment.”

Luck?

“It’s a knack,” she said. Source and Thanks

25 Die in Baghdad as Iraqis Defy Violence to Vote

BAGHDAD: Iraqis voted Sunday in an election testing the mettle of the country’s still-fragile democracy as insurgents killed 25 people in the capital and sending down a barrage of mortars intent on disrupting the day.
c80683d44eo vote 25 Die in Baghdad as Iraqis Defy Violence to Vote
About 19 million Iraqis are eligible to vote in the election for who will lead the country as U.S. forces pull out and determine whether Iraq can overcome the jagged sectarian divisions that have defined it since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

Insurgents who vowed to disrupt the elections launched a volley of mortar attacks just as polls opened across the city and country.

At least 12 people died in northeastern Baghdad after an explosion leveled a building, and mortar attacks in western Baghdad killed seven people in two different neighborhoods, police and hospital officials said.

In Baghdad’s northeast Hurriyah neighborhood, where mosque loudspeakers exhorted people to vote three people were killed when someone threw a hand grenade at a crowd heading to the polls, said police and hospital officials.

In the city of Mahmoudiya, about 20 miles (30 kilometers) south of Baghdad, a bomb inside a polling center killed a policeman, said Iraqi Army Col. Abdul Hussein. There were also explosions elsewhere in the country, but no further reports of fatalities.

Insurgents also launched mortars toward the Green Zone — home to the U.S. Embassy and the prime minister’s office — and in the Sunni stronghold of Azamiyah police reported at least 20 mortar attacks in the neighborhood since day break.

About 6,200 candidates are competing for 325 seats in the new parliament, Iraq’s second for a full term of parliament since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion seven years ago this month.

Defiant Blair Defends Decisions Over Iraq War

Defiant Blair Defends Decisions Over Iraq War, Former British prime minister Tony Blair defended the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq, saying the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States meant Saddam Hussein had to be disarmed or removed.b8c4115bdcaq war Defiant Blair Defends Decisions Over Iraq War
The Al-Qaeda strikes against US cities had transformed the global security picture, raising the risk that militants could kill even more people if weapons of mass destruction (WMD) from a rogue state were to fall into their hands, Blair said. Facing the first official public grilling on why he sent 45,000 British troops to war in Iraq, Blair batted away questions about the legality of the invasion but admitted for the first time there had been mistakes in the post-war planning. Blair defended the war’s legality, relying on the green light the government’s top lawyer gave only days before the conflict, and saying a second UN resolution had only been desirable from a political, not legal perspective. Blair also added that they did not anticipate al Qaeda and Iran would play the role that they did which he said almost caused the mission to fail.

0c202f5ae9kings Hidden Valley KingsLATES NEWS UP DATE Hidden Valley Kings Brinkley defeated Curtis Stevens in the wrestling held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada which was premiered on ESPN. The fight was truly a treat for the viewers, as who will emerge victorious could not be predicted till the very end of the fight. It kept the audience glued to their seats with the fighters overpowering each other and in the next few seconds getting overpowered in return. Disappointing though it was for New Yorkers, still it was a very interesting fight to watch. Jesse Brinkley (167 1/2; age 32; now 35-5) was truly impressive while he gave Curtis Stevens (165; age 24; now 21-3) a very hard fight.

In the 12 round super middleweight fight, Jesse Brinkley defeated Curtis Stevens. He managed 2 knockdowns and secured IBF title at the end of 12 rounds. The scores are (117-109, 118-108, 119-107). At the start, Curtis Stevens was thoroughly impressive with his aggressive blows and confident body language. In the first round it seemed he was going to knock Jessey Brinkley out of the battle. Once he had hit Jessey Brinkley on the right eye. In the second round Jesse Brinkley made a smooth come back with jabs and blows and swift body movements which send the message that he is still in the game. In the next few rounds the game was almost out of Curtis Steven’s hands. However, Jesse Brinkley was not overconfident and knew the battle was not over. The Hidden Valley King was a Charlotte, North Carolina based gang formed by Jaime McGann who was also known as Chinch. As, the gang was formed at Hidden Valley that was located between Interstate 85 and North Tyron St. Built and so, they called as Hidden Valley Kings aka HVK. HVK was a brutal gang notorious for getting anything they needed from money to body. They used to represent them with dreadlocks and Green color and they were well equipped with latest weapons held by police.

Earlier, they were indulged in activities like, chilling, rapping, beefing, hollering and clubbing, drugging and drinking. They had millions of dollars. Their odds started in 2000 when they made police attention through a series of high-profile murders. Police began to trace them through their calls and recordings. In 2007, they started a grand operation against HVK with more than one hundred task force agents.

Located about 20 meters west of Tut’s final resting place, KV56 is a small, unattributed shaft tomb — basically a rock-cut burial chamber at the bottom of a vertical shaft — which had originally been discovered in 1908 by American excavator Theodore M. Davis.

Badly damaged and clogged with compacted mud and debris, the tomb had nonetheless yielded a fabulous array of late Nineteenth Dynasty (c. 1200 BC) royal jewelry, prompting Davis to nickname it The Gold Tomb.
