Mixx News Reported Earlier Brad Pitt returning to his new family home and Angelina Jolie and their kids yesterday in France. Brad Pitt landed at Nice airport looking every bitt as scruffy as he has been since Halloween! We thought maybe the beard was just for fun and a costume thing, but then he wore it on the red carpet and now it looks like its here to stay, so we are hoping its for a movie role! In it, Kirstin Dunst goes to a costume party and dresses up as a 20s flapper girl (though I think she had a specific flapper girl in mind since the theme was “Favourite Dead People”), looking awesome in a black bob, long cigarette, red lipsticks and slinky black dress. That was when it clicked! I want to be a flapper girl this Halloween! It won’t even be that hard. All I need to get is a black bob wig, a long cigarette holder and a black slinky dress and then put on pale foundation, smokey eyes and hot red lipsticks- viola, flapper girl!

I even know exactly which dress I’d buy too. This FCUK fringe dress is perfect. I can even wear it again for a night out (even though it is not exactly my usual style…)! But still, I love the idea that I won’t be wasting too much money on a cheap looking costume I’d only get to wear once. I actually went into a real costume store my first time today and I must say, I was not impressed. The costume outfits for women typically look cheap and skanky. And I’m not about to fork out $50USD to look cheap and skanky.

On the topic of Halloween, we must not forget our favourite showman of all, John Galliano. When it comes to putting on a great statement, there is no one quite like him. Going through his FW08 runway, I’ve pegged the drama down to two elements: crazy hatwear/hair and crazy make-up.
So maybe there is no rationale behind most of these, but hey, it’s time to be creative!

I promise this is the LAST Halloween post I’m going to do this year. In case any of you still have not thought of what you want to be , I thought I’d give you one last idea- just go with the crazy make-up. People would be so busy admiring your eyes that they won’t have time to care about the rest of your outfit!
Besides Galliano, my two other favourite crazy make-up looks are from Dior (left) and the Lacroix haute couture (right) show. Both redefines the upper and lower part of the eyes making their eyes look HUGE. They are in essence however, the opposite of each other. While Dior uses a sharp white base, Lacroix uses a smokey black base. Either way, I’m loving both of them. Go for the Dior look if you want to look feline and the Lacroix look for something a bit darker. A bit more subtly, we have the smokey eyes of the Chanel haute couture (left) and the Balenciaga (right) show. Just go heavy with the eye liner and the smudging. If you do have a costume, these would be more subtle looks for you. You don’t want to take away too much from the outfit now do you?

And as for some simple DIY ideas: You can be forks/knives/spoon with alumninium, a piece of steak and ketchup/mustard to go with that. You can be Tetris pieces. Pacman and the ghost. Or a Twister board- just wear white and stick colored dots on yourself and carry the spinning thing!

They are demanding comfort in their lingerie and hence experimenting with different lingerie styles too,” Marks and Spencer’s marketing head Nandini Sethuraman told IANS.

“Women have become very confident and know their mind. They have also started realizing the importance of a good innerwear as a perfect fit gives your body perfect shape too. They now look for comfort, quality and durability in their inner wear,” she added.

The market today is flooded with colourful lingerie with perfect fits, different designs and materials, unlike some years back when only monotonous designs, boring colours and broad straps were available.

You can splurge on sensual thongs, bodices, bloomers, corsets, maternity bras, sports bra, camisoles and much more.

“There is a wind of change in the Indian market as youngsters are demanding bras that have transparent, colourful, halter neck straps to suit their dressing. These options were not available earlier but with attires becoming Western, the demand for comfortable yet stylish bras is increasing,” explained Nalini Gupta, CEO Genesis Colors, holding company for Bwitch.

“More and more women are opening up and have realized that lingerie is something that is very close to them, so they do not mind flaunting their stylish and chic bra straps. Now you can get a bra for every occasion,” she added.

Agreeing with Gupta, Triumph’s managing director (India and Sri Lanka) Thorsten Allenstein, who has been looking after Indian market since 2005, says that Indian women are taking inspiration from the West where lingerie is given the same importance as the outerwear.

“Indian women, especially the cosmopolitan crowd with their exposure to and experience of international brands, know their mind and they do not mind shelling out money on good lingerie, for them it is an investment,” Allenstein said when he here to launch their first flagship store in Connaught Place.

“In a country where importance is given to outer wear, people are coming out of this shell and are splurging on their inner wear because that gives them a feel-good factor,” he added.

These inner wear are priced at anywhere between Rs.200-Rs.3,000 and are available in different materials like lycra, chiffon, net, rayon and cotton too.

However, Allenstein feels Indian women still do not know their bra size and the lingerie brands are trying to educate women about their perfect fit.

“Our main aim is to educate them to find the right size and for this we have trained our staff so that they can guide them to find the perfect fit,” he added.

Allenstein also feels that another misconception that Indian women have is that cotton fabric is the best for lingerie.

Elaborating, he stated: “The Indian perception is that cotton is the best fabric for lingerie, which in fact is wrong, and we want to change this perception.”

“Though we have cotton bras to satiate the desire of Indian women and the response has been outstanding, but we feel that it is very important for them to come out of this mindset and start experimenting.
