13 Year Old Commits to USC, USC Lane Kiffin really is looking to the future, and I don’t mean in the coming season im talking 2015. Wonder kid David Sills has given his verbal agreement to join USC at the rip old age of 13.
This has now set the media talking on whether or not kids are taken on too early, however not according to the young quarterback’s coach Steve Clarkson who said, “His skill set is off the chart,” and lets be honest Clarkson would know as he has mentored some of the best quarterbacks in the game, including current USC quarterback Matt Barkley.
Comments have been made that it is hard to project how a player as young as Sills will develop physically, however Clarkson mentioned that Sills is already six feet tall as a 13-year old. The boy’s father said that USC had always been his sons dream school.
MELBOURNE: Pakistan ended their disappointing tour losing all matches in the series of three Tests, five One-day Internationals and a Twenty20 match as Australia also won their last match by two wickets on the last ball of the match here at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.
Chasing an easy target of 128 runs, Pakistan started disastrously by losing both their openers, Imran Nazir (naught) and Imran Farhat (8), for just 10 runs on the board.
However, wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal came to rescue to take his team out of trouble. He held the one end intact as other batsmen were being dismissed at regular intervals.
Pakistan were well on the way to success as long as Kamran was at the crease but his ouster changed the whole scenario and the tourists who were needing only 30 runs from 35 balls to win the match managed only 27 runs with one wicket remaining to give Australia their first T20 win against Paksitan.
Kamran blasted 64 off only 33 balls with seven fours and two sixes while the second top scorer was his younger brother Umar with 21. The only other batsman reaching double-figure was Umar Gul (10).
Shaun Tait was the most successful bowler with three wickets for 13 runs, supported by Shane Watson and Steve Smith claiming two wickets each.
Earlier, Michael Clarke who was leading the Aussies in the absence of Ricky Ponting, won the toss and elected to bat but his team could not make any big score and were all out for 127 in 18.4 overs.
Except Michael Hussey (40 not out), Clarke (32) and David Warner (24), no batsman could enter into double figures as three batmen were run out by alert Pakistani fielders.
For Pakistan, Umar Gul captured three wickets for 20 runs while Malik claimed two for 31. Pacers Mohammad Asif and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan took one wicket each.
Shoaib Malik led Pakistan as their T20 captain Shahid Afridi was banned for playing two T20 matches for ball tampering.
Imran Nazir returned to Pakistan lineup and Imran Farhat made his T20 debut.
Australia also included two debutants – legs-pinning allrounder Steve Smith and left-handed batsman Travis Birt.
MELBOURNE: Australian captain Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the only Twenty20 International (day/night) here at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday.
Pakistan are playing under allrounder Shoaib Malik as Pakistan T20 captain Shahid Afridi has been banned for playing two T20 matches for ball biting incident.
Imran Nazir has returned to Pakistan lineup for today and Imran Farhat is making his T20 debut.
Australia have also included two debutants – legspinning allrounder Steve Smith and left-handed batsman Travis Birt.

Australia winning the toss decided to bat first and were all out at 127 in 18.4 overs in the only T20 match. Aussies are seeking a clean-sweep of Pakistan after winning the three Tests and five one-dayers between the two earlier this summer.
Australia: Michael Clarke (capt), Cameron White, Shane Watson, David Warner, David Hussey, Travis Birt, Brad Haddin, Steven Smith, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Tait, Dirk Nannes, Ryan Harris (12th man).

He said that he wanted to make the end of the series a memorable one winning the fourth and the fifth One-day Internationals.
The Pakistan cricket team captain said that the main reason of the defeat is misfortune, too. He appealed the people to support the team and avoid to criticize it
Meanwhile, opener Imran Farhat has developed a shoulder injury.
According to coach Intikhab Alam, scan report of allrounder Rana Naved-ul-Hasan’s foot is clear and he will play the fourth One-day International while Umar Gul will be replaced by Rao Iftikhar Anjum.
HOBART: Pakistan Vs Australia 3rd Test Live Stream, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the final eleven for Hobart test series against Australia.
Pakistan has dropped wicket-keeper and vice captain Kamran Akmal and made three other changes ahead of the third Test against Australia in Hobart.
Akmal has been replaced by rookie ‘keeper Safraz Ahmed after a bizarre standoff between the vice captain and selectors, with Akmal repeatedly insisting his place in the team was safe.
The gloveman – who dropped four catches as Australia pulled off a miraculous victory at the SCG last week – was forced to ‘drop himself’ as he is part of Paksitan’s four-man selection panel.
Pakistan manager Adbul Raquib said the panel unanimously decided to play Safraz ahead of Akmal.
In other changes, Shoaib Malik and Khurran Manzoor have come in for struggling batsmen Faisal Iqbal and Misbah-ul-Haq, while teenage paceman Mohammad Aamer returns in place of Mohammad Sami.
Meanwhile Australia has recalled opening batsman Simon Katich, who will replace Phillip Hughes at the top of the order.
Pakistan: Mohammad Yousuf (captain), Imran Farhat, Salman Butt, Khurram Manzoor, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sarfraz Ahmed, Mohammad Aamer, Umar Gul, Mohammed Asif, Danish Kaneria, Faisal Iqbal (12th man).
MUMBAI : 26 Pakistanis Register for IPL Auction, Young batting sensation Umar Akmal and paceman Mohammad Aamir are among 26 Pakistan cricketers to register for the Indian Premier League player auction later this month.
Pakistan’s players last month missed the deadline to secure the necessary clearances to participate in the IPL, meaning they must go through the auction process to compete in the third edition of the lucrative Indian domestic Twenty20 competition.
It now depends on whether the individual IPL franchises have slots available for more overseas recruits.
In all, 97 players from around the world have registered for the Jan. 19 IPL auction, and if franchises have expressed interest in any of those players, they will be informed on Tuesday.
Last year, over 100 players registered but only 50 were put on auction for the 17 available overseas places.
Four Pakistanis Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal and Sohail Tanvir had their IPL contracts suspended and have already been replaced by other overseas players by their respective franchises.
Bangalore Royal Challengers secured South Africa’s Roelof van der Merwe in place of Misbah. South African fast bowler Charl Langeveldt has replaced Gul at Kolkata Knight Riders, while the Rajhastan Royals brought in Johan Botha in place of Akmal and Tanvir.
The list of Pakistani players also included a number of cricketers who have now severed their ties with the unauthorized Indian Cricket League. Players like Azhar Mahmood, Mohammad Sami, Rana Naved, Imran Farhat, Imran Nazir and Saqlain Mushtaq all competed in the ICL.
Mohammad Aamir, Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shahzad, Saeed Ajmal, Umar Akmal, Fawad Alam, Yasir Arafat, Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt, Imran Farhat, Mohammad Hafeez, Yasir Hameed, Faisal Iqbal, Asim Kamal, Danish Kaneria, Mohammad Khalil, Abdur Rauf, Khalid Latif, Azhar Mahmood, Shoaib Malik, Khurram Manzoor, Saqlain Mushtaq, Rana Naved, Imran Nazir, Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Sami are among the Pakistani players registered for IPL auction.
MELBOURNE: Pakistan made 44/1 in their second innings in third session of the fourth day in Melbourne Test, losing the wicket of Imran Farhat 12 at 18.
Earlier, Shane Watson made his maiden Test century as Australia set Pakistan 422 to win the Boxing Day Test at the MCG.
Watson compiled an unbeaten 120 on day four as Ricky Ponting called his men in on 8 for 225 following the dismissal of Nathan Hauritz for 8, stumped by Kamran Akmal off the bowling of spinner Saeed Ajmal.
Mitchell Johnson was the other man out after lunch, caught short of his ground by Mohammad Asif for 22.
The immediate period after lunch was all about Watson’s quest for a maiden Test century, having gone to the break on 98.
And having scratched around in the 90s for what seemed an eternity, it was typical that the runs for the milestone should come in dramatic fashion.
Facing a fired-up Mohammad Aamer, who had already claimed his maiden five-wicket haul, Watson on 99 threw the bat at a fuller delivery which went straight to Abdur Rauf at backward point.
But Pakistan’s traditionally woeful fielding has been front and centre this match and it came as no surprise when Abdur grassed a sitter which allowed Watson to streak through for his single.
Watson faced 186 balls to reach triple figures, having occupied the crease for close to five hours.
He became the first Australian of the summer to reach triple figures, with 20 half-centuries having been recorded in the four Tests played including this one.
Batting partner Johnson had earlier achieved his own significant milestone, reaching 22 to become only the fifth man in Test history to record 50 wickets and 500 runs for the calendar year.
Ian Botham, Kapil Dev and Richard Hadley all did it twice, while New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori managed the feat last year.
Aamer, just 17, finished with a Test-best 5 for 79 from 24 overs.

Pakistan Beat India 6-3 in Field Hockey, SALTA: Argentina: Pakistan beat India 6-3 to set up a final against New Zealand in Champions Challenge field hockey.
New Zealand held out two-time defending champion and host Argentina 3-2 to reach Sunday’s final, where the winner will qualify for the Champions Trophy next July in Moenchengladbach, Germany.
Pakistan took only two minutes to score, through Rehan Butt, who would collect a hat trick in another classic match between the archrivals.
While two Pakistan players were cooling off on cards, India forced a penalty corner and leveled through Dhananjay Mahadik. India continued to enjoy the run of play, but Pakistan nailed its chances with Butt shooting home and Sohail Abbas adding a penalty corner goal for a 3-1 halftime lead.
After the break, India dominated, but its desperation to score left the defense vulnerable, and Haseem Khan’s goal against the run of play made it 4-1. There were four goals in the last eight minutes, with Butt claiming his third and Abbas his second. Mahadik also finished with a pair for India.
As in the Pakistan-India semifinal, New Zealand scored quickly, with Andrew Hayward converting a penalty corner to hush the home crowd. Argentina’s penalty corner specialist Pedro Ibarra claimed his sixth goal of the tournament to draw level, but just before halftime Phillip Burrows finished a counterattack to send New Zealand ahead into the break.
After Shea McAleese’s penalty corner goal 10 minutes into the second half gave New Zealand 3-1, Argentina’s attack ramped up but continued to be bottled by the New Zealand defense until four minutes from the end, when Lucas Vila’s counterattack field goal gave the home side renewed hope, but without enough time.
