KARACHI, Pakistan News: As many as ten people were killed in a severe blast that rocked the entrance of a hospital’s emergency ward where the wounded of a deadly suicide attack occurred an hour before were being treated.
Near 12 dead bodies and 50 wounded of a suicide attack of today’s noon on a bus carrying Shiite mourners to Chehlum procession had been rushed to the emergency ward of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center. Hundreds of victims’ attendees, relatives and media persons were gathered outside the JPMC’s emergency ward when the blast occurred just opposite the ward.
The blast which apparently occurred in a motorcycle was as severe as it shattered all the windowpanes of the hospital and damaged many of the parked ambulances, cars and motorcycles and other installations.
Dozens of people have also been injured in the attack and were rushed to other medical facilities, including Civil, Liaquat National and Aga Khan hospitals, as the emergency of JPMC – that was already filled to capacity with the victims of noon’s attack – was also damaged in the blast.
Security has further been beefed up at the blast site, the channel added.
