Liang Zhi Qiang, Film-maker Liang zhi qiang’s secret affair with a young woman Zhong jia yan less than half his age was exposed on Friday after she showed up at his semi-detached home in Pasir Ris.

Miss Zhong jia yan, 22, was upset that Liang zhi qiang, 50, had apparently lied to her and demanded to see his wife on Friday.

Zhong jia yan said she had decided to make the affair public because she felt hurt and betrayed by Liang zhi qiang. She denied that she was using him to break into show business.

FANS of Liang zhi qiang are disappointed with the news of the local movie director’s extramarital affair, which made the front pages of all three Chinese papers yesterday.

Marketing and sales executive Vincent Chua, 55, who has watched many of his movies, said yesterday: ‘In his movies, he asks people to be good, honest and true to their families. But in real life, he can do anything. There is really a conflict.’

TAIPEI : A 42-year-old Taiwanese man with a history of high blood pressure has died of a stroke likely triggered by over-excitement from watching the blockbuster ‘Avatar’ in 3D, a doctor said on Tuesday.

The man, identified only by his surname Kuo, started to feel unwell during the screening earlier this month in the northern city of Hsinchu and was taken to hospital.

Kuo, who suffered from hypertension, was unconscious when he arrived at the Nan Men General Hospital and a scan showed that his brain was haemorrhaging, emergency room doctor Peng Chin-chih said.

“It’s likely that the over-excitement from watching the movie triggered his symptoms.

Kuo died 11 day later from the brain haemorrhage, and the China Times newspaper said it was the first death linked to watching James Cameron’s science-fiction epic “Avatar”.

Film blogging sites have reported complaints of headaches, dizziness, nausea and blurry eyesight from viewers of “Avatar” and other movies rich in 3D imagery.

“She is a dreamer… she lives in her own world. She imagines a lot of things that suit her psyche as an actor. She is a very genuine, warm and a very sensitive person… And no denying the fact a very good learner. It has been an amazing experience to work with her; she is a perfect actress,” said Muzaffar Ali.

“Post-Umrao Jaan, she has kind of withdrawn herself… perhaps because that role was a very cerebral, cultural and classical one that raised her to a pedestal that cannot be surpassed ever… not by her or by anyone else,” he added.

When quizzed on her relationship with Aditya Chopra, the actress told a leading daily, “I have a very special relationship with Adi. He’s a person who I absolutely admire and respect. He always had faith in me since the beginning.” The actress chose to carefully not add or mention any possible hints of a romantic link with the director.

She added, “It doesn’t bother me because I am enjoying my work. I’m in a very happy state of mind right now. My film has done well; my family is here; my friends have appreciated my work.”

And her take on working exclusively for the Yash Raj banner? “Coincidentally, all the roles I’ve done in the recent past have come from the same banner. I would’ve done those films had anyone else offered them to me too. Of course, I have a comfort factor with Yash Raj. I’ve done 12 films with them. That comfort factor lies with Dharma Productions and Red Chillies as well. You often see many actors working with only certain directors.
