Swamis and Scandals, Swami Paramhansa Nityanand: The founder of the Nityanand mission, which claims to have 1,000 branches across 33 countries, has been untraceable since certain Tamil TV channels recently aired a video which allegedly shows him in a compromising position with a Tamil actress. Nityanand, who has ashrams in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Puducherry, hails from Tamil Nadu and has a sprawling ashram in Bidadi, 30 km from Bangalore. He claims to lead a worldwide movement for meditation and peace. Lenin Karuppan, a former disciple, has said that he shot the video to expose the swami. Lenin has alleged that his life has been under threat from the swami, adding that he also suspected foul play behind the death of a woman inmate a year ago. In the complaint filed with Chennai City Police Commissioner T Rajendran, Lenin, who claimed to be an inmate of the ashram in Bangalore since 2006, said the swami used to lure young women devotees claiming that he was the reincarnation of Lord Krishna.

Anup Kumar Sahay: A self-proclaimed godman in Ghaziabad, he was booked on Sunday for abducting his cousin. According to a complaint filed by Subha Srivastava, mother of the victim, the accused along with his brother Ashok Kumar Sahay abducted her daughter Priyanka Srivastava on February 15. The self-proclaimed godman has been booked under sections 363, 313 and 366 of the IPC which pertain to kidnapping and forcing a woman to undergo abortion without her will.

Kripaluji Maharaj: Ram Kripal Tripathi aka Kripaluji Maharaj, at whose ashram near Pratapgarh in UP 63 people died in a stampede last week, was charged with kidnapping and rape in two cases in Nagpur in 1991. He was acquitted after the witnesses turned hostile. He was arrested in 2007 after a Guyanese woman in South Trinidad filed a rape case against him.

Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot Wale: Shiv Murti Dwivedi alias Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot Wale (39), a self-styled godman, was arrested by the Delhi Police last month on charges of operating a high-profile sex racket involving former airhostesses and students.

Asaram Bapu: Two minor boys of the Asaram Ashram-run gurukul in Ahmedabad were found dead in the Sabarmati riverbed two days after they mysteriously went missing from the gurukul in February 2008. The police booked Asaram Bapu in a criminal case pertaining to attempt to murder last year in December on the basis of a complaint filed by Raju Chandak, a former disciple of Asaram. Chandak was shot at by two persons on December 5 and he sustained injuries on his chest and shoulders. Chandak alleged that he was targeted at the behest of Asaram, as he had testified before the D K Trivedi Commission probing into the death of the two boys.

Jayendra Saraswati: The influential Kanchi math Shankaracharya was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police in Mehboobnagar in Andhra Pradesh in November 2004 in connection with the murder of a former accountant of the math.

Santosh Madhavan: The temple priest-turned-astrologer wanted by the Interpol – was arrested in Alappuzha in May 2008. Apart from a Rs 50 lakh fraud case that has a Dubai-based businesswoman as the complainant, Madhavan, who had turned himself into Swami Amritachaitanya presiding over a posh ashram and flaunting high connections in the state’s political circle and the bureaucracy, was also charged with raping a 15-year-old girl repeatedly.

Premananda: Also known as Trichy Sai Baba, he was awarded life imprisonment in 1994 for two terms on the charges of multiple criminal offences including rape and murder. Premananda, who reportedly had powerful supporters in the AIADMK, had not only raped many of the inmates of his ashram at Trichy but also carried out crude medical terminations of some of the consequent pregnancies with the help of a couple of associates. He was also charged with the murder of an engineer who had opposed the nefarious activities at the ashram.

Jacob Nodarse, A 23-year-old man who is considered the “prime suspect” in the murder of three family members in Darien was arrested at his parents’ home in southern Florida Wednesday afternoon.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Jacob B. Nodarse was found sleeping in a minivan outside of a home in Lehigh Acres near Fort Myers around 3 p.m. He is being held on an obstruction of justice charge, but police told the Tribune he is a “prime suspect” in the murders of Jeffrey Kramer, 50, his wife Lori, 48, and their son Michael, 20. Murder charges have yet to be filed.

Police in Florida had been on the look-out for Nodarse, after Darien police told them he was driving a blue BMW coupe and had family in Fort Myers and Miami, The Tribune reports.

A motive in the slayings remained unknown Wednesday. Tuesday morning, police responded to the 8900 block of Kilkenny Drive in Darien after the Kramers’ daughter, who was hiding in a closet, called 9-1-1 and said there were shots fired in the home. Police discovered her three family members dead on the scene.

Rapper Trina’s fans were surprised to see some extremely personal photos of the musician hit the Internet over the weekend. Pictures that seemed to be taken with a cellphone showed Trina exposing her breasts and, less scandalously, posing with boyfriend Kenyon Martin.

Trina was the victim of theft recently, as the Diamond Princess’ cell phone was stolen and personal pictures she snapped on the device, including nude images, were leaked online.

She said, “I personally would not want a picture of me exposed leaked. I lost my phone, and I had some pictures of me that I don’t want the world to see. I’m thinking that if it ever came out, I’m devastated. It’s not sex tape pictures, but it’s still … I don’t want you to see it.”

Trina added, “I don’t feel like, as an artist, that I need to do anything to expose myself. I don’t need to put out a nude photo for press. I don’t need to do that. I don’t want a sex tape of me and my significant other to be worldwide for the world to see. That’s a personal endeavor.”

Trina’s leaked nude photos follow similar situations that Rihanna and Cassie  had to deal with last year.

Nancy Benoit Hustler Pics, It has now been over two-years since Nancy Benoit was brutally murdered by her professional wrestler husband Chris Benoit, however her family will probably be glad to hear that Hustler could soon be getting in trouble for publishing nude pictures of her after her death.

The photos were published by Hustler’s publisher Larry Flynt, up until now he has got away with publishing nude pics of Nancy, however an appellate court has stated that “The photographs published by [Flynt] neither relate to the incident of public concern conceptually [the murders] nor correspond with the time period during which Benoit was rendered”.

Apparently the pictures that Hustler published were from Nancy when she was 20 years old, at the time of her murder Nancy was 43 years old.

Nancy’s family are adamant that she wanted the photos destroyed, however Hustler believe that they had the rights to publish the photos.

Dubai’s police chief says arrest warrants would be issued soon for 11 Europeans suspected of killing a top Hamas commander, and added that Israeli involvement cannot be ruled out.
Last month, Hamas military official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found dead in a luxury hotel in Dubai. The city’s Police Chief vowed to seek justice for the murder. Dahi Khalfan Tamin, Dubai’s police chief, said, “This is the way of mobs not countries. Former Playboy model Paula Sladewski’s body has been found in a Miami dumpster and was burned to unrecognition. Police consider her boyfriend a person of interest.

Fire fighters in Miami responded to a call that a dumpster was on fire near a propane business. After extinguishing the flames, fire fighters noticed a body that was “burned beyond recognition.”

Miami Police have identified the victim as former Playboy model, 26 year old Paula Sladewski, from dental records.

Sladewski’s boyfriend says the two arrived in Miami on Thursday to celebrate New Year’s by watching Lady Gaga perform. Though police are considering him a person of interest, he has yet to be named as a suspect in the murder.

His attorney, Marc Beginin says the boyfriend is “devastated and traumatized” by news of the death.

Sladewski’s boyfriend reportedly told police that he and Paula went to a club on Saturday and stayed until about 7 AM Sunday. The two got into an argument and he was thrown out of the club, but Sladewski decided to stay. According to police, the boyfriend says that was the last time he saw her.

Two former Blackwater employees have been charged with the murder of two Afghans in Kabul last year.
According to Justice Department, two former Blackwater employees Justin Cannon, 27, and Christopher Drotleff, 29, have been charged with second-degree murder following the shooting deaths of the two Afghans.
They were also charged with attempted murder including the 13-count grand jury indictment. Both men could face death penalty, the Justice Department said.
