LAHORE: The death toll in two blasts at R A Bazaar in Lahore cantonment area on Friday has reached to 13, while 40 others were injured.
The relief teams and ambulances reached to the spot of the blasts and started relief operations after the twin explosions.
Police and security agencies personnel have cordoned off the area.
According to state television two blasts occurred in the area. The sounds of fire were heard after the first blast and than another blast occurred.
The injured were being transferred to hospitals. Several passersby were hit by the bullets in firing after the first explosion, reports said.
According to eyewitness account that the first blast was occurred in a car and another in a motorcycle.
The injured also included women and children, reports said. The authorities have declared emergency in Lahore hospitals.
The roads leading to the cantonment areas have been closed.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have condemned the bomb attack in Lahore.
Six security personnel among 20 persons were killed while 25 others got severely injured as two suicide bombers struck main bus stand at north Cantonment area, RA Bazaar, Lahore.
The blasts took place while the faithful were going to offer the Jumma prayers. Windowpanes of nearby building shattered in wake of the explosion. Rescue efforts are underway and the injured are being shifted to nearby hospitals.Sources added that the injured include two army majors also. Rise in toll is also feared.

At least seven persons were killed while several others injured when a suicide bomber struck Nishat Chowk, Mingora.
Two security forces’ cars also got damaged in the blast while fire engulfed 8 shops and 10 cars parked alongside.
Rescue efforts have been kicked off and the injured are being shifted to the hospitals, while the security forces cordoned off the area. According to initial reports, the bomber targeted a security forces’ convoy. Rise in toll is also feared.
According to DIG Malakand Muhammad Awais, it was a suicide bombing. After the explosion, a curfew has been imposed.

WANA, Pakistan: US Drone Attack In SWaziristan, 4 killed, At least four persons were killed and four others injured in the attack of suspected US unmanned spy plane on Norok tehsil of Mir Ali in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) late on Wednesday night.
According to sources, the identity of injured and killed persons has yet to be ascertained but wounded men have been rushed to hospital for medical attainment.
Drone’s flights over the area are still underway, triggering panic among public, witnesses said.
MINGORA, Pakistan News: At least seven persons were injured in suicide attack in the house of a provincial assembly member in Swat.
The attack occurred at the house of Dr. Shamsher MPA in which seven persons including the NWFP assembly member and his brother were injured. Shamsher belong to Awami National Party.
Indefinite curfew has been declared in the region after the attack, sources said.
PESHAWAR: At least eight persons were killed in Khyber Bazaar area here, police said.
The explosion said to be occurred in the area having key government offices including Peshawar High Court, NWFP Assembly building etc.
NWFP Assembly was in session when a loud blast rocked the area.
