US special envoy on Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke says US will urge India and Pakistan to resume their dialogue, adding that US would support them if they decided to resume the talks but Washington was not willing to play the role of a midwife.
Holbrooke during a briefing in Washington said that US would cooperate with Afghan government, adding that US civilian aid would help in Pakistan’s development.
Responding to a question about how the US could balance its ties with India and Pakistan when both were suspicious of each other, Holbrooke noted that ‘all Americans were delighted’ with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s current visit to Washington. ‘But no one in Pakistan should see this as a diminution of the importance we attach to them,’ he said. He said that US would take positive steps to end poppy cultivation in Afghanistan.

Miley Cyrus has lashed out at Kanye West for storming onto the stage during the recently held MTV Video Music Awards.

West had jumped onto the stage and snatched away the microphone from Taylor Swift, while the latter was making an acceptance speech for receiving the Best Female Video.

Although West has apologised to Swift making a telephone call, the Hannah Montana star is not convinced.

Cyrus said that West apologized not because he felt sorry for his behaviour, but because he wanted to save his face publicly.

Contactmusic quoted Cyrus as saying: “His apologies are just because he’’s getting flak for it.”

The 16-year-old star added: “I”d tell him to get off the stage. It’’s her moment. For those times that you are able to tell your speech, you do it. And it’’s disrespectful as an artist and I know he even said his family would not be happy if someone did that to them.”

Richard Hatch Arrested, Richard Hatch was moved from house arrest to confinement again shortly after his interview with Matt Lauer on Tuesday, but no details were readily available as to the reason he was detained:

Hatch “The former “Survivor” star was taken to the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office in Bourne, Mass., which has a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to hold federal inmates. ‘We just don’t have the same kind of details on the federal inmates we book as we do with the regular city and county inmates,’ explained Sheriff’s Office spokesman Roy Lyons. ‘It’s got to be that he violated some kind of condition. There’s no other reason this would have happened.’ Traci Billingsley, a spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, told TODAY that her agency could not reveal specific information about Hatch’s situation, adding that there are a variety of reasons to return inmates from house arrest to confinement. Before being taken back into custody, Richard Hatch had to get permission a week in advance to leave his sister’s property for any reason.”

In Tuesday’s interview Hatch maintained his innocence regarding his tax evasion conviction and said that he believes the judge had it out for him because he is gay.
