A law enforcement official told the Associated Press that Baldwin and 14-year-old Ireland had been arguing, and she told 911 that he had threatened to take pills. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity.

According to various accounts, when police and medics arrived at his apartment, Baldwin was awake and agreed to be taken to the hospital for examination. He was driven to Lennox Hill Hospital, where he was treated and released an hour later.

Baldwin’s publicist issued a statement calling the whole thing “a misunderstanding on one person’s part.” The statement said Baldwin is “completely fine and will be at work” on Thursday.

The Emmy-winning actor has no known history of illness. Baldwin’s relationship with daughter Ireland was the source of a 2008 scandal involving phone messages in which he berated her as a “pig.”

Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Based on the latest research conducted by Jessica Dolle, and other researchers at the Seattle-based Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, the use of oral contraceptive pill, especially by women before the age of 19 and for not less than a year duration, can cause triple negative cancer.ee3325b77dcancer Triple Negative Breast Cancer

But is this Triple Negative Cancer? Triple negative breast cancer is a subtype of cancer associated with a high mortality and has little hope for a cure. According to Triple Negative Cancer:

Triple-negative breast cancer refers to a specific subtype of breast cancer that does not express the genes for estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) or Her2/neu. This subtype of breast cancer is clinically characterised as more aggressive and less responsive to standard treatment and associated poorer overall patient prognosis. Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Death

Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Death, Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on the cable television show “Deadliest Catch”, has died, the Discovery Channel said Tuesday night. He was 53.
730c7ba010death Deadliest Catch Captain Phil Harris Death
Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the fishing vessel he captained, Cornelia Marie, was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska. The fisherman was flown to Anchorage for surgery.

The reality show, which has filmed five seasons, has been one of the Discovery Channel’s most popular and depicts the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.

“It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad — Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end,” sons Josh and Jake Harris said in a statement released by the network. “For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down.”

In a statement, Discovery Channel senior vice president Elizabeth Hillman says, “Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him.”

“We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart,” she said.

In an e-mail to The Associated Press, she said no additional information was immediately available Tuesday night.

Harris had seemed to be improving, and in a posting last Saturday on the ship’s Web site, he was described as “talking to friends and family today; showing his greatest progress” since the stroke.

His sons wrote in a Feb. 3 posting that “No one ever said Captain Phil Harris wasn’t tough. Today, dad showed some good signs of improvement, squeezing our hands and even summoning his trademark Captain’s bluntness … We are encouraged but still very cautious.”

According to the ship’s Web site, Harris started working on fishing boats at age 7 and started work 10 years later on a crab boat. When Harris turned 21, he ran a fishing vessel out of Seattle, making him one of the youngest to captain a vessel in the Bering Sea.

When Harris suffered the stroke, the family said a friend, Derek Ray, had flown to St. Paul to take over the role of relief skipper for the rest of the opilio crab season.

Derrick Roland Injury Video

Derrick Roland Injury Video

Derrick Roland Injury Video, Here I was thinking the Eric Wood broken leg video was awful, but after seeing what happened to Derrick Roland I might have to reconsider things. Texas A&M was taking on Washington in Seattle when early on in the 2nd half when guard Derrick Roland went up for a bucket. It appears as if his legs got entangled with a Washington player’s and Roland came down awkwardly. The result was one of the most disgusting images I’ve seen. You can even hear the “crack” sound from when Roland’s leg snapped in this horrific vid. Check outs the Derrick Roland injury video if you think you can endure it, keep in mind that you really only live through it via the reaction of Aggies teammate Donald Sloan.
The reality is that Roland’s collegiate career could be over, but the good news is that the surgery reportedly went well. You can only wish the best for Roland after seeing something so horrific happen to him like that and seeing the way it impacted his teammates. It’s also nice to note that the team is attempting to support Roland as much as possible, staying with him in the hospital until his family arrives. Here’s hoping for the best for Derrick.

Four Police officers Shot Dead in Washington

Lakewood Police Department WashingtonSEATTLE : Lakewood Police Department Washington,  Four police officers were gunned down in an execution-style ambush at a coffee shop in Washington on Sunday, triggering a manhunt for a convicted armed robber with a history of violence.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Ed Troyer said the victims were sitting at a table in the cafe before their shift when a lone gunman entered and started shooting at around 8:15 am (1615 GMT) local time.

“We have somebody out there who blatantly went in and opened fire on four police officers, killing all four of them,” Troyer said following the shooting near McChord Air Force base in Tacoma, south of Seattle.

Late Sunday the identities of the victims — who were all wearing uniform including bulletproof vests at the time of the attack — were released.

The dead were named as Sergeant Mark Renninger, 39, Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Greg Richards, 42. All of the officers were married with children, police said.

Troyer said the officers, from nearby Lakewood Police Department, had been specifically targeted, noting that staff and customers at the coffee shop had not been shot at. “This was more of an execution. Walk in with the specific mindset to shoot police officers.”

The suspected gunman was described as a “black male in his 20s or 30s” Troyer told reporters. “He walked in with a handgun, opened fire multiple times and fled the scene,” he said.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said later Sunday they were seeking Maurice Clemmons, 37, for questioning as a “person of interest in the case.”

According to reports, Clemmons has a long criminal history including five felony convictions in Arkansas and several felony charges in Washington.

He had been in jail in Pierce County for several months until recently pending a charge of second-degree rape of a child.

According to the Seattle Times, Clemmons served only a fraction of a 35-year prison term in Arkansas before his sentence was controversially commuted by the state’s then Governor Mike Huckabee, who mounted an unsuccessful bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2008.

Troyer earlier told King 5 local television that one of the mortally wounded officers may have traded fire with the gunman.

“There is evidence that a Lakewood Police officer fired off some shots and we hope that he hit him,” Troyer said. “If he’s hit, that means that he’s injured somewhere with a gunshot wound.”

Troyer said local hospitals had been alerted in case the suspect sought medical attention.

Police set up tiplines and offered a 10,000-dollar reward for anyone with information about those responsible for the shooting.

Around 200 officers from different law enforcement agencies were involved in the hunt for the shooting suspect late Sunday, police said.

“We have no motive at all,” Troyer told King 5. “I don’t think when we find out what it is, it will be anything that makes any sense or be worth it.”

Washington Governor Chris Gregoire voiced his shock at the shootings, which local media said was the worst single loss of life involving law enforcement officers in state history.

“I am shocked and horrified at the murder of four police officers this morning in Pierce County,” Gregoire said.

Tony Fein Dead

Tony Fein DeadTony Fein Dead, Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and Iraq War veteran Tony Fein died early Tuesday morning in his hometown of Port Orchard, Wash., according to his agent Milton D. Hobbs. The cause of death wasn’t immediately known, but an emergency room official at Harrison Medical Center said that Fein was admitted Tuesday morning before he died. The time of death was 10 a.m. PST

Fein was 27 years old.

“It’s just extremely sad,” Hobbs told the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “I’ve talked to members of his family and some of his friends. We don’t want to speculate on the cause of death right now out of respect for his family.”

An undrafted rookie free agent from Ole Miss, Fein was released by the Ravens during their final major round of cuts.

Fein didn’t have any reported health problems or injuries during his stint with the Ravens. “It’s a shock,” D.J. Sigurdson, Fein’s football coach at South Kitsaps High School, said in a telephone interview late Tuesday night. “I can’t believe it.”

Fein enlisted in the Army at age 19 after graduating from high school in Port Orchard, Wash. He served in the Persian Gulf primarily as a Delta scout before being honorably discharged after a three-year enlistment.

“Being in the military really was a life-changing experience,” Fein told the Carroll County Times during a training camp interview in August. “It makes you grow up fast. It teaches you a lot about teamwork and doing your job.

“It’s kind of similar to football. Everyone has to do their exact job. It’s the same thing in the military. The Army is the ultimate team, and that falls right in line with football.”

Fein was involved in a controversy while with the Ravens.

He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault on a police officer during an incident at a Johnny Rockets restaurant in the Inner Harbor prior to a preseason game.

According to a police report, Fein initially refused to stand up when police officers approached him after being notified by security guards that a group of men were passing around a large, silver metallic object believed to be a gun that was actually a cellular phone.

When asked to stand again, Fein allegedly shoved an officer in the chest and was arrested. Hobbs accused the police of racial profiling, an allegation the Baltimore City police department vehemently denied.

At Ole Miss, Fein started at middle linebacker and recorded 136 career tackles in two seasons. A former high school quarterback, Fein finished second on the team in tackles as a junior. However, he was benched for a short period.

Then, Fein was nearly booted off the team by new Rebels coach Houston Nutt before eventually winning over the coaching staff with his work ethic.

It was Fein who recorded a pivotal tackle in the Rebels’ upset victory over then-No. 1 Florida prior to a Cotton Bowl win over Texas Tech last season.

Fein also won the Pat Tillman award, which is presented to a college athlete who has fought on a battlefield like the late Arizona Cardinals safety who was accidentally killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan.

At Ole Miss’ campus Pro Day, Fein opened some NFL scouts’ eyes when he bench-pressed 225 pounds 29 times, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds and registered a vertical leap of 37 1/2 inches and a 10-1 broad jump.

He was signed by Baltimore after trying out at a rookie minicamp in June following an unsuccessful tryout with the Seattle Seahawks.

Per Hobbs, Fein had been working out back in Port Orchard and hoping for another chance to play football.

Skyline vs Oaks Christian

Skyline vs Oaks Christian, We have never run a game thread on a high school football game before but because this one is going to be on national television and involves a number of players we are all interested in this is a good time to do it.

Most of us would usually be rooting for Skyline since they are a Seattle area high school but since all world QB Jake Heaps spurned UW for BYU most of us would like to see a nice performance out of Oaks Christian. Oaks Christian features two future Huskies in QB Nick Montana and OT Erik Koehler. I think most of us would like to see Montana outperform Heaps tonight.

Skyline has another player of interest by the name of Kasen Williams. Williams who is a junior is one of the top WR’s in the 2011 class. Both his parents went and played athletics at Washington. You would think he would be a Washington lock but not so fast…schools such as Florida have offered him scholarships so he is going to take his time figuring out where he wants to go to school.

The game starts at 7:00 PM Seattle time and will be broadcast on ESPNU.

KJR-AM will also be doing the game on the radio with Hugh Millen providing the analysis.
