Minissha Lamba : Well Done Abba Is Tongue-In-Cheek

Minissha Lamba Well Done Abba Is Tongue-In-CheekMUMBAI INDIA : Working with Shyam Benegal is almost every serious actor’s wish and when actress Minissha Lamba got a chance to do so, she says, she could be “nothing but perfect”. She terms their film Well Done Abba an “educative trip”.

“Much before beginning to shoot for the film, I was sure about one thing that I couldn’t let Shyam sir down. Here I was working with a man who has been directing for 35 years now so I had to be nothing but perfect with my performance,” Minissha said.

With such a senior person calling the shots, wasn’t it intimidating?

“Honestly, it wasn’t intimidating because Shyam sir is a pro in working with actors. He knows how to take care of them and extract the best out of them. This is why I didn’t even know how an entire month passed by and the shooting got over.

“More than him calling the shots, what was really unnerving was the kind of immense pressure that I had put myself into. For me, every day was a challenge as I had to give my very best,” she said.

The film has been narrated in a comic and ironic vein. It is an engaging story of Armaan Ali (Boman Irani), a driver working in Mumbai. He takes leave for a month to find a husband for his teenage daughter (Minissha), who lives in a small locality close to Hyderabad. Armaan Ali returns to work only after three months. His young employer wants to sack him but is persuaded to know the reason why Armaan got delayed.

Fascinated by the experience of working with Shyam Benegal, Minissha added: “Well Done Abba is told in a very simple, fun, light-hearted way. In any case, cinema is the reflection of society and in the same mould, this film too is quite tongue-in-cheek.”

The film also stars Sameer Dattani (as Minissha’s love interest), Ravi Kishan, Ila Arun, Salim Ghouse, Sonali Kulkarni, Rajit Kapoor, Yashpal Sharma and Ravi Jhankal.

“With such an ensemble cast in the film, you have to be on your toes all the time. There were some scenes in particular that were quite challenging and I didn’t really know where I was and what I was  doing. But, as I said, Shyam sir gets it going for his actors at the end of the day. I can only say that working in ‘Well Done Abba’ was an educative trip for me and I only came back a little more well-versed in cinema,” said Minissha.

A BIG Pictures production, the film has music by Shantanu Moitra. Earlier titled Abba Ka Kuan, this Shyam Benegal movie is set to release March 26.

One Question Is Kajol Pregnant

One Question Is Kajol PregnantMUMBAI INDIA : One question Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is constantly asked in most interviews is whether he plans to have another child. And Ajay has never shied away from admitting that if destiny wills it, he will be more than happy to add to his family.

Now news has it that Ajay’s gorgeous superstar biwi Kajol is reportedly pregnant. And, the Devgns are all in a very upbeat mood. Insiders say the family was in a dual celebratory mode on March 12 when they all met at a birthday dinner for Ajay’s sister.

The handsome Bollywood couple’s first born Nysa will be seven on April 20. And everyone knows that both Ajay and Kajol give their daughter top priority over everything else in their lives. Kajol has wrapped up her talkie portions in Siddharth Malhotra’s Hindi version of StepMom with Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. There were clear discussions on the set that the shooting could not be extended under any circumstances.

The actress, who was recently seen in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan, has also finished the major portions for Kumar Mangat’s Toonpur Ka Superhero with husband Ajay. It is said that Ajay, who returned to Mumbai after a three-month-long outdoor for his various film shoots, is now keen to shoot in and around Mumbai only just to spend time with his wife. The actor couldn’t make it to the recent Filmfare Awards night because of his busy work schedule but he did send Kajol to the function with absolutely strict instructions to return home in half-an-hour.

Kajol’s sister Tanisha and Ajay’s first cousin Vickey accompanied the actress to the event. And Kajol, who looked resplendent in a red sari and was absolutely enjoying the buffonery of her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan with Saif Ali Khan on stage, made sure that she left the awards ceremony within the time stipulated by her husband.

Insiders say that the promotional track of StepMom that was to be shot later is being wrapped up from March 20 in Mumbai because Kajol is participating in the song shoot. The film is slated for a July release and sources say the music video could very well have been shot later. However, keeping in mind Kajol’s decision not to do any work after March, the track is being shot now.

Ncaa Mens Basketball Bracket 2010

Ncaa Mens Basketball Bracket 2010, The NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010 is officially out now. Of course, the NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010 technically has 64 teams, but really has one. The Connecticut Huskies have become the most dominating.ff5a4f5d6ct 2010 Ncaa Mens Basketball Bracket 2010
team in women’s history, and maybe the most dominating Division I team in any gender for three decades. Already, the Huskies broke their own record-setting winning streak, and can beat the UCLA men’s 88-game streak next year. But to keep that alive, they must win the national title first, and the NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010 has 63 teams trying – perhaps in vain – to stop them.

The Huskies got put in the Dayton regional, as their first possible victim is 16′th seeded Southern. Afterwards, they next face either Temple or James Madison, and possibly Iowa State or Virginia in the Sweet 16. On the other side, Ohio State becomes the team most likely to stop Connecticut, as the No. 2 seed. Florida State trails behind them in third, and the Big East’s St. John’s got the sixth seed.

There are other teams and regions in the NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010. In fact, if the Huskies get out of Dayton, they could face old arch-rival Tennessee in the Final Four. The Lady Volunteers returned to their traditional place as a top seed, this time in the Memphis region. They start off against Austin Peay, the only team in with a losing record.

Other challengers in this region of the NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010 are second seeded Duke and third seeded West Virginia. Baylor received the fourth seed, with old powers like Texas and LSU at six and seven.

On the other side, 32 teams may play for the right to face Connecticut in the national title game. The NCAA women’s basketball bracket 2010 could have had two undefeated teams, but Nebraska fell to Texas A&M in the Big 12 semifinals. Yet the Cornhuskers got the No. 1 seed in the Kansas City region, a year after they missed the tournament altogether.

Trailing Nebraska is Notre Dame, who was Connecticut’s record-setting 71’st straight victim. Another Big 12 power, Oklahoma, got the third seed with Kentucky at fourth.

Kareena Kapoor I Am What I Am Because Of My Flops

Kareena Kapoor I Am What I Am Because Of My FlopsMUMBAI INDIA : Kareena Kapoor said that she would hate being known only for her looks and that being a superstar is about overcoming failures and not just delivering hits…

We met Kareena for a chat at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence where she was beaming because of her newborn nephew and her week-long break to spend time with family. Kareena was surfing the net when we entered the tastefully done apartment. Saif left for some shopping when the interview began and came back later for a casual chat

How is life now that you have become a maasi for the second time?

Absolutely amazing. The baby boy (Kiaan) is really cute. Samaria looks so much like Sunjay (Kapur) but the newborn looks just like Karisma. It’s celebration time as the family has a boy after a long time.

3 Idiots has smashed all box-office records and you have managed to hold your ground in an Aamir Khan film. Comment.

I think it’s also because it is a Raju Hirani film. It’s the first time and Aamir and I starred together so there were a lot of expectations. I feel that I make the best pair with Aamir.

You only did the film because of Aamir and Raju.

In each of my films, good or bad, I have always stood out irrespective of the presence of other actors. I am doing Ra.One and I have fantastic roles in Agent Vinod and Golmaal 3. I have strived really hard to be known first as an actor then a star. I would hate it if someone tells me that I looked very good in my films and I hope that I am cast for my talent and not for my beauty.

I am here to sell my talent and I take great pride when I am offered a role in a boys’ film like 3 Idiots. I think my audience no longer likes me in films like Kambakkth Ishq and honestly I have realised that I won’t make that mistake again.

Kurbaan got good reviews but it didn’t work.

An actor is an actor because of failures, not success. A superstar is one who overcomes failures and people remember how good you are in a film, which has not worked. I am what I am because of my flops. Anybody can give two super hits and become number one.

Is there a long thought process before signing a film now?

Sometimes there is no thought process at all. We actors are like scientists who keep on experimenting. People should know that Kareena takes risks and I did Chameli when I was 23 years old. I don’t care about what people say about Tashan as I gave everything to the film by changing my body. How many actresses have the courage to take up the challenge of transforming themselves especially in this male dominated industry? Tashan was an achievement as I also met Saif during the film. Sometimes flop films and not hits is great news for actors.

How do you mange to have a good equation with all the Khans?

I have chosen the safest Khan for my personal life. I don’t know if there are any sides as all of them are really different. Saif and I are great friends with Aamir and Shah Rukh is like family. My sister loves Salman.

It’s said that you are the highest paid actress in the industry today. Is it true?

I don’t know. You tell me as every day there are reports that so and so is charging so much. If there is a list on highest paid actresses, I want to be number ten.

But the rivalry is evident when it comes to endorsements.

A brand will sign me if they think I am good. There are only three shampoos and three soaps in the market so where does the question of who is the most wanted actress arise? Everybody has brands to endorse.

How do you manage to take frequent breaks given your busy schedule?

I take lot of off time as it’s very important for an actor to work do great work and take breaks. I must spend time with family and my loved ones or else I will just wear off, I will die, and my looks will fade. I do four movies and 12 brands a year so I need to travel all over the world and explore, which also shows in my acting. I have instructed Zahid (secretary) that after every three months I need to have a break for at least a week to look rejuvenated.

Although I appreciate people who want to work all year, I can’t do it.

There is so much speculation about your and Saif’s relationship and wedding. Does it affect you?

We have been open about our relationship and that’s why we are the hottest couple. If we get married now there will be no curiosity. We are enjoying all the attention and are used to news about us getting married and breaking up all the time. Whenever we get married, we will let the world will know.

Are wedding bells five years down the line?

It will be much lesser than that. (Laughs)

News is that you are buying an IPL team with Saif?

We did go for the bidding and we had all the papers in place but it got cancelled. If we are rebidding, it will be Saif’s call. I don’t understand cricket but Saif follows it. Movies are my only passion.

There are reports that you and Saif are planning a joint production house?

I want directors and producers to make films for me. I don’t want to make films for myself. Professionally we are dramatically different as I sign a film saying ‘let’s do it’ while Saif won’t do a film till he is 100 per cent sure.

Are you doing Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film?

I would love to work with Madhur. We are working on a script but nothing has been finalised yet.

What about Milenge Milenge and the constant issues about Shahid Kapoor?

These talks have resurfaced as Milenge Milenge will soon release. I have told Boney Kapoor (producer) that I am ready to promote the film. As for reports about Shahid and me, I am used to it.

Bangladesh’s highest fourth-innings total is 413, against Sri Lanka in Dhaka in 2008.
Junaid Siddique (38 not out) and Aftab Ahmed (26) steadied the Bangladeshi innings with a 54-run stand for the third wicket before Bresnan grabbed two wickets in his three overs.
The England paceman had Ahmed caught behind then bowled Mohammad Mahmudullah for five runs to reduce the hosts to 105-4.
Swann, who bowled Tamim Iqbal in the morning session, got his second wicket when he removed skipper Shakib Al Hasan, judged leg-before while attempting to sweep. TV replays, however, suggested the ball came off the gloves.
The England spinner has so far captured seven wickets, including five in the first innings.
Tamim, top-scorer in the first innings with 86, contributed only 14 this time before being bowled in Swann’s second over.
Kayes fell in the last over of the morning session, caught by wicket-keeper Matt Prior off paceman Steven Finn after making 23 with four boundaries.

Day Light Savings 2010

Day Light Savings 2010, The time change, which occurs at exactly 2:00 a.m. Sunday, causes us to lose an hour overnight. It’s an event that always sneaks up on me, and I’m sure there are many people who’ve had Sundays ruined by a failure to adjust clocks.
885162a82bs 2010 Day Light Savings 2010
Some of you may already be aware of Daylight Savings Time, however, because your clocks jumped forward last week. This is because last year, the time change came during the first week in March. This year, the 2010 time change occurs during the second week, hence the March 14th date.

Remember to spring forward for the time change 2010 before you head to bed.  Turn your clocks ahead one hour for daylight savings time 2010.  The official time change 2010 takes place at 2 AM.

During the time change 2010, some people may watch the Pacquaio fight while others might be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day during day light savings 2010.  Either way, daylight savings time 2010 means longer days and more time to enjoy the sunshine.
