India Vs South Africa :- India has announced the squad for the first two games of the upcoming one-day international series against South Africa starting in Jaipur on Sunday.

Yuvraj Singh was ruled out because of a wrist injury and Gautam Gambhir was left out because of a groin injury while Baroda all-rounder Yusuf Pathan, Mumbai all-rounder Abhishek Nayar and Tamil Nadu off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin called up for the first two one dayers.

Praveen Kumar, who did not feature in India’s tri-series squad in Bangladesh, has also been included in the team to be captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The first ODI will be played in Jaipur on February 21 while Gwalior will host the second match on February 24. The three-match series will end in Ahmedabad on February 27.

NAGPUR: India Vs South Africa, Jacques Kallis posted an unbeaten half-century as South Africa recovered from two early shocks to reach 90-2 at lunch Saturday on the first day of the opening test against India.

At lunch, Kallis was on 55 and Hasim Amla was on 24, having added 84 runs for the third wicket after South Africa was reduced to 6-2 by pace bowler Zaheer Khan (2-15).

Batting first after skipper Graeme Smith won the toss, South Africa conceded the initial advantage to the hosts as paceman Khan struck early to claim openers Ashwell Prince (0) and Smith (6).

Prince was the first to go, trying to evade a bouncer from Khan that lobbed off his gloves to Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the fifth over.

Khan claimed the prize wicket of Smith two overs later with a fine delivery that swung in sharply and dislodged the stumps.

Amla and Kallis denied further success to the home team, batting resolutely to remain unbeaten at lunch.

Kallis was the more aggressive of the pair, hitting six boundaries and a six from 81 balls.

An injury-stricken India picked rookie middle-order batsman Subramaniam Badrinath and wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha.

They got the chance to make test debuts as V.V.S. Laxman was ruled out by a finger injury while Rohit Sharma twisted an ankle in the morning warmup. India had already ruled out Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and S.Sreesanth through injury.

Sri Lanka, would be relying heavily on their batting, especially on Upul Tharanga and captain Kumar Sangakkara to come good in the absence of in-form Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, who suffered a groin injury during the tournament opener against hosts Bangladesh on Monday.

India will be without batting superstar Sachin Tendulkar, who has been rested for the one-dayers, but the return of Yuvraj Singh, who was sidelined due to a finger injury, will strengthen the already formidable Indian middle order.

The bowling department will also be strengthened by the return of pacer S Sreesanth, who has fully recovered from swine flu he suffered during the Sri Lanka series.

With the Lankans fielding a second string side for the tournament, 20-year-old batsman Lahiru Thirimanne gets his maiden international cap.

Sri Lanka’s inexperience is most pronounced in its bowling front with Nuwan Kulasekara being the most capped player with 60-odd ODIs. He will be sharing the new ball with rookie Chanaka Welegedara and Suranga Lakmal.

Each team will play four league matches before the top two qualify for the final on January 13.

Yuvraj Singh Dating Vivek’s Ex-girlfriend? Yuvraj Singh is apparently dating actor Vivek Oberoi’s ex-girlfriend Grace. And last week, the actor even bumped into them in Goa.

Grace is from South Africa. She’s a professional surfing trainer and brand ambassador for sportswear manufacturer, Billabong. She met Vivek last year when he had gone surfing while shooting in SA for Prince of Thieves. She has even met the actor’s family.

Grace was once quite serious about Vivek. “She was asking for a commitment. She loved him and wanted a marriage but VO felt he wasn’t ready or as emotionally involved as her. She left South Africa (where she lives) to be with Vivek and was willing to change her lifestyle for him. But VO wasn’t looking for a serious relationship then so they parted ways,” adds the source.

Since then, Grace has moved on. “Yuvraj was seen last week in Goa with friends but was seen being very protective about Grace. He was seen introducing her as his fianc. Apparently, Yuvi has even introduced her to his mother and she dotes on Yuvraj’s girlfriend. Their family astrologer says the girl will bring good luck to Yuvi’s cricketing career,” says the source.

Reveals the source, “Yuvi and Grace were partying  at a night club when they met Vivek. When VO came to know that the two were planning to tie the knot, he wished them well. After that, Grace spoke to Vivek a couple of times.”

India’s dashing left handed opener Gautam Gambhir will miss the third and final Test at Mumbai due to family commitments. The southpaw has been given leave by the BCCI to attend his sister’s marriage. Gambhir has been in cracking form for India saving the first Test at Ahmedabad with a century and then starring in the innings victory at Kanpur with a superb 167 on the first day.

Replacing Gautam Gambhir is most probably going to be another specialist opener Murali Vijay from Tamil Nadu. The right handed Vijay had played one Test so far which was against Australia. The third and final Test at Mumbai is to be played at the Brabourne Stadium from the 2nd of December.
